Tainted Tater

Early in the afternoon Alex Rodriguez connected for his 600th home run in his career. Less than an hour later he has been dissected by the media, fans, and former players for this accomplishment. So let me in on the dissection... This home run was obviously not any home run. Normally if a player hit 600 home runs your first instinct would tell you that whoever hit it must be a extremely talented seeing as how including A-Rod there are only 7 players who have ever reached this prolific milestone. However, the 417 foot homer that A-Rod hit was a tainted tater. While Rodriguez reflected on his accomplishment during a postgame media session a reporter asked, " Alex can you look back in your career and reflect what this home run means to you?" Well obviously his reply was simple, that it was a great moment in his baseball career, and something he wont forget. If you asked me what it meant I would tell you, absolutely nothing. Who knows how many home runs A-Rod would hit without his PED's. I would love to be celebrating this momentous occasion, but I simply cannot. There is no way Alex can be content with this milestone he and the rest of the baseball community know that this is a premature celebration. However steroids wouldn't make Steve Urkel hit 600 home runs, at age 35 Alex has accomplished a lot in his baseball career, but hitting 600 home runs shouldn't be one of them.
